McKesson Bargaining Update

For All UFCW Local 401 Members at McKesson

Dear Members:

We have just completed three days of bargaining last week. As a result of this, we have entered into monetary issues. We believe that we will be in a position at our next set of dates to have a Memorandum for you to vote on.

We have decided to apply for Mediation to help move the process along. Currently we have dates set on May 30, 31, and June 1, 2018 to continue bargaining and will use these dates to go through the mediation process. We are hopeful that we will have an offer for you to vote on soon after these dates.

Your employer has tabled a new benefit plan that they intend to roll out with this set of negotiations.  The understanding is that they will present this prior to voting on any offer as this will be part of the offer you will be voting on. This will give you the opportunity to review and ask any questions of your Employer on this new plan so you will be able to make an informed decision when we do the Ratification meeting. Your Bargaining committee will not be able to answer these questions prior to the Ratification meeting so it is important to ask your employer any questions you may have.

We ask that you be prepared to come out and vote on a potential offer soon after the above dates. Your vote is extremely important because the result of this vote could very well decide whether or not we end up in a possible dispute. Your bargaining committee needs to hear your comments and concerns. We will be advising and posting the date of the Ratification meeting soon after the next dates of Bargaining.

As is the practice when we are coming to an end in any set of negotiations, you should be cautious in making any large purchases etc. at this time.

We ask that you check the website (www.ufcw401.ca) for future updates as they will be posted there once there is something new to report.  Look under “News and Events, Negotiations.” As well, you need to watch your Union Bulletin board for important updates.

Should you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to contact your Union Labour Relations Officer.

Sincerely,

Your Bargaining Committee
