McKesson Makes “Final” Offer to Members

Following up on last week’s short update here; We’ve met with your Employer on the 28th and 29th of September and have important news for your consideration. The Employer has presented us with what they call their “Last, Best Offer.”

Your committee fought hard for many of the improvements in this offer. After careful review, we also feel that there are still a number of items raised by the members that the company hasn’t addressed or improved.

In addition, with the cost of living increasing every day, your committee feels that the monetary offer for wages does not go far enough to meet workers’ needs.

Finally, the feedback we received prior to and during bargaining made it clear that a shorter contract was a key concern for members, in order to protect against our uncertain economic times. The proposed 5-year term doesn’t address that concern.

You Will Have Your Say

As this is a democratic process, your committee felt strongly about bringing this offer back to you for to have your say and send a strong message to the company that this offer does not go far enough to meet your needs.

We have attached a copy of the full document here for your review. Please take the time to discuss it amongst yourselves and with your families.

Prior to voting, we will be holding an information session at The Quality Inn West Edmonton (17803 Stony Plain Road) on October 9th from 2pm-6pm where you can attend and ask questions regarding the offer.

Voting Details

Voting will take place both in person and online.

We are planning to hold in-person voting at each DC: on October 13th from 12pm-4:30pm for DC 540 and October 14th from 12pm-4:30pm for DC560.

This will be followed by an online voting window from 6:00 pm October 14th to 4:00 pm October 15th where all members who may have not been able to vote can do so electronically. Please ensure your contact information is up to date with your Union, as you will need a current e-mail address on file to vote electronically.

Your committee is committed to continuing to fight for better terms on your behalf should this offer be rejected. We have not yet exhausted all options in bargaining. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to your Bargaining Committee or your Negotiator Ryan Sapsford ([email protected]).
