Working Hard to Get Ready at Aramark Bethany!

The bargaining committee for Aramark Bethany met at the union office on June 23rd and 24th to prepare for upcoming negotiations with the employer.

We heard the message loud and clear from Aramark Bethany members that you expect to see significant benefit and wage improvements in our next contract, alongside other improvements to our working conditions and compensation.

“Our last contract spanned years when prices spiked and COVID took its toll on all of us at Bethany, so members rightly have high expectations that our new contract will bring some much-needed improvements,” said bargaining committee member Joanne Lambkin.  “Our preparation meetings with our union negotiator and representative were positive and productive. We are ready to fight for a contract that recognizes the value of the work we do!”

We will keep you posted once we have scheduled meetings with Aramark, which we expect will begin in September. While negotiations are ongoing, our existing contract remains in full force and effect, and we are certainly proposing that any wage increases should be retroactive to the expiry of our current agreement in mid-May.

Stay Engaged, Stay Strong!

Your Union bargaining committee.

All members should reach out to your Union Stewards if you are concerned about anything at work. We have been successful in getting backpay for members who were not paid properly by Aramark. If you think you might have been underpaid or have any other concerns, we need to hear from you!

We also need your support throughout the bargaining process. When we stand united, we can achieve great things! Please get in touch if you want to volunteer to help communicate to all shifts and departments during bargaining.

“Members get the most out of their union membership when they get involved,” said committee member Jodi Crozier. “Whether it’s getting your pay corrected, accessing union discounts, or educating yourself through the many union training programs that are available, we are all stronger when each of us participates.”

Please reach out to your bargaining committee with any questions or feedback you may have:
